Egypt Praises China Ties as ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’
In a statement marking 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations on May 30, 1956, the ministry noted that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to formally recognize China, describing the move as opening “a new chapter in the history of international cooperation among developing nations.”
The statement said Cairo and Beijing exchanged congratulatory messages on the anniversary, reflecting what it described as the depth of political and diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Over the past seven decades, relations between the two countries have evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership, with cooperation expanding across multiple economic, political, and cultural sectors.
Egypt also expressed its ambition to further deepen cooperation with China in ways that support shared development goals, enhance prosperity for both populations, and strengthen cultural and civilizational exchanges between two nations with long historical legacies.
